Becoming a complete and balanced therapist – April

So April is here; the leaves are already starting to turn golden and the air is crisp. I love this time of year – there is something so awesome about this downtime we are given that allows us to regroup and refocus. The spas and salons slow down and there is time to get things done that has been put aside throughout the busy season and summer. It is now when we can start rekindling the love we have for our jobs.

It is very fitting that the diamond – a magnificent, brilliant gem, represents April. Clean and clear with a full spectrum of colour contained within. Just like the autumn leaves that fall from the trees. The diamond signifies love and bravery and that is what I am going to chat about today. Love yourself and honor yourself so much that you are brave and you become a 100% therapist.

The key focus of my articles to therapists this year is of course, becoming a complete and balanced therapist in 2016. So far we have discussed ambition, balancing work and social life and continuous learning. We have not however chatted much about actuals relating to our job. So that is what I’m going to do today.

I always maintain that it is tough to stay hyped up all the time and really love your job because it is tough and we work hard. Weekends, public holidays are fully booked days for us that are exhausting. Not like the rest of the world who is kicking back with a drink and the family.

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel – and yes girls DIAMONDS!!!! Seriously though, by loving ourselves and what we do; we are able to honor ourselves daily by doing the best we can and giving our best to our clients which results in increased sales and more interesting treatments and ultimately – Yes – you said it MUCH MORE MONEY!!!!

The goal posts are high and we are targeted at 40% retail to overall turnover mostly – and this qualifies you to be a 100% therapist. A complete therapist that yes, works hard but is remunerated well and can go and by herself diamonds if that’s she wants.

So how do we get to that 40% retail to turnover split?

BE BRAVE, BE VERY VERY BRAVE….

  1. Failure in sales often is because we fear failure or rejection/criticism not the actual sale

Confront your fears.

It is not the actual rejection / failure that hurts us; It is the FEAR of the rejection / failure that holds you back.

Don’t let it!

  1. Be bold.

Just hang in a couple minutes longer. When you start to feel uncomfortable just hold on and push through because it is where we are uncomfortable that we grow.

  1. Heroes are the ones who are able to conquer their fears of rejection and failure just long enough to succeed.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Reaffirm this all the time to yourself.

This lifts your self-esteem, as well as your confidence.

You begin to truly believe that you are the professional that can recommend to each and every client cause you are going to change their skin for the better.

  1. Have fun

It is really awesome when you get into your flow.

You will enjoy exploring different options of products for your clients.

Your job becomes interesting and really starts to see the products working and changing your client’s skin and self-confidence too.

So go on girls just take the leap and be brave and watch your sales soar through the roof – good luck and enjoy xxxx
